Waking Up is Hard to Do

January 5, 2010

Day one of my first 30 day challenge. This month’s challenge is to not go back to bed after my kids head to school (kids went back to school today). I stayed up too late last night and didn’t sleep so well. But I dragged my behind out of bed, put my contacts in, made coffee, and plopped down in front of my computer.

I have to say that is was a good feeling to have completed 5.5 hours of work when at 1 pm I left my home office to take Hannah to the orthodontist. If I can stick to this, I can be done working by 1 pm everyday!! Then I can eat lunch and take a nap. It sounds wonderful right now. But I know that at 6:30 am tomorrow, sleep will be more appealing than working.  But I’d made a challenge and I’ve publicly announced it, so I can’t let myself down, right? And its just for 18 more days (just weekdays). I can do anything for 18 days, right?

Nice discussion and I like your input. Fast question. I are preparing to start using wordpress ourselves. Can you share a good resource for templates and the best plug ins to make it easy for staff to update content in a nice user friendly way? Thx in advance.

I got this template through my membership at MomMasterminds. I also like the Revolution Lifestyle theme which used to be free but I don’t think its available anymore. Most WP sites have a link at the bottom to the theme developer so if you see a theme you like, you can see where the blogger got it. Or just do (as I do) a Google search on WP themes. Just be careful as some free themes have links back to questionable sites and you can’t change it per terms of getting the theme free. As far as plugins, WP now has made it easy to find and install them from within your dashboard. I have the basics spam preventions, XML Sitemaps, SEO etc. And then you can get them based on your site. For example if you want to offer books, there are plug ins that help you display books.
